Hi folks, I don’t have much time to write this week, but I have written a major article and done an AMA at
this week that I believe warrant your attention. The article was published before the conclusion of this year’s Central Economic Work Conference (CEWC) and could be seen as a relatively successful prediction of what CEWC was about. You can read it here:
On the same evening of the final announcement of CEWC, I also did an AMA with paying members of Baiguan, in which I also commented on other issues such as China’s recent anti-monopoly investigation against NVIDIA, as well as the significance (and insignificance) of the nationwide rollout of the personal pension fund scheme.
You can find a full recording of the AMA here:
The above contents are at least partially paywalled for paying subscribers of Baiguan. Please note that a paying subscriber of Baiguan also gets FREE access to all contents of this newsletter (If you haven’t yet, please write to me to get it), plus access to our member-exclusive Discord community.
Hi Robert, great post. this weekend on the FT:
A government policy adviser told the Financial Times officials were probably looking at channelling money to households via measures that could include expanding the coverage of health insurance schemes and their levels of reimbursement. The government could also expand funding for education and the number of years of free education, the adviser said.
I also noticed more discussion on the subject on a broader sense
I would welcome an article on the consequences of moving to a consumption model. Opening restaurants, child/elder care centers, and other service-based industries sounds great theoretically and is pretty much inevitable. However, getting there could be incredibly painful as many sectors that have created growth would be negatively impacted.
